I downloaded the Astroid Quickstart bundle from the Joomdev site: astroid-framework-v2.5.2-j3.9.25-quickstart.zip

I have uploaded it to my server (which I am sure is configured properly for Joomla, as I have installed from quickstart files previous joomla installations).
After uploading to the root folder, I unzipped it from the command line. I then browsed to that folder and the initial joomla installer index.php page loaded. No errors. I filled in the name of the site and the super user credentials and clicked the next button. The page then flashes and redirects back to index.php#
The information I filled in is retained, so it appears the session is being created, but it will not progress to the next step, Database information page.

Is there some problem with this version of the quickstart package? Looking at the source of the installer page this is the code for the button.

<div class="btn-toolbar">
<div class="btn-group pull-right">
<a href="#" class="btn btn-primary" onclick="Install.submitform();" rel="next" title="Next"><span class="icon-arrow-right icon-white"></span> Next</a>
</div>

I've never had the need to look at the installer source so I don't know if this is the standard or not.

Any advice would help. This is not throwing any errors, it's just redirecting back to itself.
</div>

I also retried this with the previous version of the Astroid quickinstaller astroid-framework-v2.5.1-j3.9.24-quickstart and got the same condition.

There must be something wrong on my end. I've tried it now with the Joomdev template Carrie quickstart and I get the same results. Without an error message, I don't know where to look for a problem.

The problem was permissions that were changed on the server php session folders after an upgrade to php 7.3. All worked as it was supposed to after that was corrected.
