I have a big complex website to move to Astroid.
They have 2 separated menus, I wonder if you have a way to bring them together on the mobile/side menu ?

Hello,
Please try this code.
var $LowerNavLI = $('.LowerNav li'),
$TopNav = $('.TopNav');
function navResize(){
var mob = window.innerWidth<768;
$LowerNavLI.appendTo((mob?".TopNav":".LowerNav")+' ul');
$TopNav[mob?"addClass":"removeClass"]('BothNav');
}
navResize();

Thanks Gary, I’m not a big coder and what I want to know if Astroid can facilitate that situation and how to do it within Astroid?

2 menus websites are not the norm but they are not rare.
What I see on these websites is that they simply merged de two menus in one for the mobile menu.

That should be implanted in Astroid, also you should be able to choose the order between the 2 menus, how they appear in the mobile menu.

Hello,

by default, it's not possible to have two menu's displayed in the mobile menu.

Perhaps, you can create a third menu that points to your existing two menus (combined) and use that as your mobile menu?

Thanks,
Chetan

Thanks Chetan, I didn’t think at that....

Tell me if I’m wrong: (based on an hypothetical 2 menus website)
— I can have 2 menus with Astroid
— Only one menu can be the “Mobile/Side” Menu
— If I want to merge theses 2 menus in the “Mobile/Side” menu, I create a third menu (not appearing on the website) that contain the same menus items from both visible menus and assign it to the “Mobile/Side” menu.

Questions?
• Do you see any problem for Astroid to have 2 main menus?
— Do I need to create 2 identical template styles and assign each menus to one of them?
— Not Sure how to optimized a multi menus website for Astroid ?

• What is the difference between the Off Canvas and Mobile menu ?
— To my knowledge, this is the same menu. Off Canvas just mean that it can also appear on the non mobile Website?

Replies in order;

No, we do it all the time on a lot of sites.

That's right, because menu selection is at the template style level and if have the needs where you want to show a different menu for a different menu item (you'd need to do that).

Not a big deal, just generates more HTML.

Mobile menu appears on the left side off the screen and will only be visible on mobile. Off canvas appears on the right (the icon to toggle appear on the right) and can be visible on desktop, tablet and/or mobile.

When you are creating the 3rd menu, just be sure to link to the original menu items with menu type system >> Menu item Alias or it will result in duplicate url's for the same content, which is not good for SEO.

Thanks,
Chetan
