Hello,
is it possible to copy and paste via FTP or Shell the Astroid plugin into Joomla without installation from Joomla?
I want just update the Astroid 2.5.2 to 2.5.3, but dont want to login in all Joomla sites.

Not that I know off. It's currently only possible via Joomla backend.

i just want to update the Astroid plugin from 2.5.2 to 2.5.4 via FTP.
Is that not possible?

Not via FTP, you have to install new version via Joomla backend only.

@Pkuhlmann you might want to look at this: watchful.net

I've used and tested for the past year or more. Very reliable and many other features besides update detection and management. Have a look at attached screen shot!
