TOPIC: Want to change the look & feel

Want to change the look & feel 7 months 4 weeks ago #29222

Hi
in general settings I can change some stuff but I want the buttons to have a border and rounded corners with 20px, the hover should be on white Background but with black text and I want to use the font from the template.

I discovered, that everything should be in.../modules/mod_agechecker/css/agecheck.css
But no matter what I change in there, it has no effect.

Can you help me please?

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Don't write CSS in the extension's core file. Your code will be removed when you update the extension. So the best way is to write code in the template's CSS file (Not the template's core file).

And you can easily change the button background color from the module (General Settings). See the attachment.

Thanks,
Chandan

Hi chandandeep

Thank you for your reply.
I do know that I can change the color - but it's just a part of the button's css.
In my template I have completely rounded edges and a border.

The coolest thing would be, if your plugin would use the css from the template (like a dropdown to select - for those who want that), or if you would implement an override within your plugin.

I also do know, that I have to re-correct the css-file after every update if I change anything within the core-files.
This is why I would prefer another solution.

Hey Daniel,

You can write your own custom css that will not be overwritten during updates. Here's the two paths where you can do that:

JOOMLA_ROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/custom.css

OR

JOOMLA_ROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/scss/custom/custom.scss

And here's the documentation if you want more info:

Thanks @VCHCP

This method will work if it is using an astroid based template.

Daniel,

Matching buttons with each template is difficult because every template provider has its own class for the button, dropdown, etc.

That's why we provide the class for both buttons so the user can change the button styling according to the template. See the attachment.

Thanks,
Chandan
