Hello,

I'm building a multi language site, but I discoverd that your great "jd content tab slider" module doesn't work
in such case : When I modify the french module, it modifies all the others. in fact it works "as designed" because the language is not
managed at all, for exemple there is no "lang" column in the "_bds" table...

any chance to get a multi-langugage version ?

regards

Alain

Alain,

A very warm welcome to our forums!
The module was originally designer for a client of our's and we modified it to use it in the template. Although, we plan to release a stable version of the module soon, but haven't been able to do that yet.

For you solution, have you tried creating 2 different modules and assigning them to different languages using the modules manager. To my understanding the data in mod_bds is managed through the module id & the auto increment item id (for the tabs) if you create 2 different modules it should work out.

Let me know?
Cheers!

Hello,

thanks for your quick answer.

It's exactly what I did (like other modules) : the module is duplicated in french and english, the module language is set to french and english.
But if you have a look to the sql table, there is no language column, so if you modify the record 1 in the french module, it modifies
the record 1 in the table wich is shared in all modules ... so the module is not able to handle differents languages.

Alin

Hello again,

I understand what you mean : If I want different translations, i have to ADD new items in the new language, and not
to duplicate the existing module and translate the items.

so the ITEMID as nothing to do with the number of visibles tabs.

so I will have ITEMID 1 to 6 in english, then ITEMID 7 to 12 in french.. and the ITEMID ?

In multilanguage case, the solution seems first of all to delete all sample modules then create new ones in differents languages.
so the autoincrement of ITEMIDs will be used to separate the differents languages (even I don't really understand where the
information is stored :dry:

What I did :

delete the existing modules
delete all lines in the dbs mysql table anreset the autoincrement to 1

DELETE from [prefix] _bds ;
ALTER TABLE [prefix] _bds AUTO_INCREMENT = 1 ;

then create a new module in each language I need and the corresponding ITEMS.

So it works in multi-languages, even not so easy to understand ;)

Thank you for your help

regards

Alain
